Most of the guests left the Victoria, Victoria Beckham show at New York Fashion Week this morning wishing they could channel the look of the girls on the catwalk.
Victoria Beckham's second collection, now in its fourth season, was probably her best yet, having graduated from a covetable-yet-small capsule collection of dresses to what seemed a more fully-fledged offering with plenty of texture and imaginative detailing.
Still heavy on the dresses and the drop-waists, the collection featured easy-to-wear shift and cocoon shapes in grey, berry and dark blue tones.

Instant hit: Many show-goers left wishing they too could resemble the girls on the catwalk, whose styling was inspired by an imagined muse that the designed called 'the Victoria, Victoria Beckham Girl'
Masculine tailoring and the school uniform palette gave an androgynous feel that was softened by high, flirty hemlines, sequin embellishment and polka dot motifs.
Round of applause: Mrs Beckham takes a shy bow at the end of her second New York Fashion Week showThe Walter Steiger knee-high boots had a Seventies silhouette, while kitten-heel pumps lent an easy, nonchalant feel, as did oversized woolly hats that we'd have gladly worn home, given the chilly weather outside.
Mrs Beckham, whose toddler daughter Harper could be spotted watching from the lap of her nanny in row two, clearly has a very strong idea of who her muse is.
'I feel like the Victoria, Victoria Beckham girl this season is an engaged intellectual with a sense of humour,' she said in the show notes.
'She can wear anything with aplomb yet she chooses the simplicity of a dress. She marches rather than walks, she drinks espresso and she devours books and art and film. And she is subversively sexy without trying.'
Speaking backstage afterwards, she admitted that she didn't know whether she wanted to meet the Victoria, Victoria Beckham girl or be her.
Of course there is plenty of Mrs Beckham herself in the collection though.
The mother-of-four, 38, says she designs the kind of clothes that she herself wants to wear - and as a woman who always looks so photo-ready - the rest of us would do well to take some lessons.
