They say that a wise man learns form his mistakes.
And it appears Justin Bieber may be more prudent than he appears after he swapped his chrome-plated sports car for a motorised scooter in Los Angeles today.
The troubled idol seemed a little tense as he got ready to film scenes for a new music video.

At one point he was spotted slapping himself on the head, perhaps annoyed at the fact he had been pulled over for a traffic infraction.
However he soon cheered up, especially when he had changed out of his all-black costume, to which he added a dash of trademark Bieber flamboyance by wearing gold trainers.
In fact he looked far more cheerful as he zoomed around in a car park, perhaps because he was so excited to be wearing a more urban outfit, which he rounded off with a theatrical headkerchief.

The teen idol, who made headlines in May after allegedly 'roughing up' a photographer, was handed a speeding ticket after being pulled over in his extravagant sports car.

Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine - a former motor officer - called the police after witnessing Justin's driving.
He told TMZ: 'Bieber was driving like a maniac. He was weaving in and out of traffic. There was hardly any space between cars as he weaved from lane to lane.

The singer's Fisker Karma is a hybrid powered sports car made in Finland, worth $100,000.
The bright silver chrome plated vehicle has a top speed of 125 miles per hour and can achieve zero to 60 miles per hour in 6.3 seconds.

The car was bought for him as a present for his 18th birthday earlier this year, and presented to him by his manager, Scooter Braun, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

He later headed to rehearsals for Sunday night's Billboard awards which will see him perform.
'Rehearsal #focused, he wrote on his Twitter account, later adding: 'Sunday we are goin in! #BILLBOARDawards.'

'We wanted to make sure, since you love cars, that when you're on the road you are always looking environmentally friendly,' the star's manager informed him of the electric car, which also features solar panels. 
'And we decided to get you a car that would make you stand out,' he added, before the stunned star saw his new car.

Meanwhile, the squeaky clean star has admitted sampling alcohol in a new interview.

The singer, who is dating singer and actress Selena Gomez, also reveals he finds it difficult to trust people since finding fame.
'I keep my guard up a lot, because you know, you can't trust anyone in this business,' he says. 'That's what's sad. You can't trust anybody. I learned the hard way.'
