They say variety is the spice of life.
So it's no wonder Tom Cruise looked like the cat that got the cream as he posed at the world premiere of his new film Knight And Day in Seville, Spain, with both his blonde co-star Cameron Diaz and brunette wife Katie Holmes last night.
Both stars looked stunning in their outfits - with Diaz opting for a ruched black one-shouldered dress, and Holmes going for the innocent look in a white dress with tiered skirt and gladiator heels

Cruise, who was dressed more casually in dark jeans, a white shirt and a blazer, grinned broadly as he posed first with Katie and then inside with Diaz.

 

Knight And Day sees the second collaboration between Hollywood stars Cruise and Diaz, and tells of a fugitive spy who takes an unsuspecting woman around the world on an action-packed adventure with him as he attempts to protect an endless energy source.
The movie, directed by James Mangold, is the latest in a string of comedic roles for Cruise, who previously made his name in dramas and more romantic films such as Rain Man and Days Of Thunder.

Speaking about the film, Cruise, 47, said: 'It's a real kind of wish fulfillment film. It's got a very unique tone. It was something I was really looking to do next.
'The most important thing to me is entertaining the audience, and it always has been.  I’ve worked since I was 8 years old and I saved money to go to the movies, so to have that opportunity… I just consider myself a student of film, of storytelling. The film itself is the most important.'
Describing Diaz as 'a great friend', Cruise added: 'I haven't worked with her since Vanilla Sky, she's just wonderful to work with, an incredible comedian.'

The pair also did the majority of their own stunts on the film, and said that while the prospect of having to do death-defying leaps or car chases was sometimes hard to deal with, they also messed around and punched each other between takes.
Cruise told Entertainment Tonight: ''We would come up on the set and we'd be like, "What's Up? What's Up?" and punch each other on the arm.'
Diaz added: 'Yeah, punching and kicking. I'd kind of like be playing around, and every once in a while after a long stretch of stunts, Tom would be like, "No, no - not today." '

Earlier in the day, Diaz and Cruise decided to prove exactly how they did their own stunts by performing a high-speed car and bike chase around a blocked-off area in Seville, Spain, for U.S. TV's Good Morning America.
After leaving a reporter stunned by her incredibly fast driving, Diaz said: 'He does everything you see in the movie.

'It's him jumping from one building to the next - he's not wearing a wire - it's him running across rooftops. It's completely off the hook and I had to step up to that. And adrenaline's good!'

While some criticised the decision to hold the world premiere of the film in Seville instead of America, the majority of the crime comedy film was shot in the Spanish city, so producers deemed it a natural choice for the opening night of the promotional tour.
Knight And Day opens in the UK on the 2nd July.

Tom Cruise is at the centre of a privacy scare after he lost his BlackBerry mobile device in Canada.
The Hollywood star is currently promoting his World War II film Valkyrie on Canadian TV shows and was dismayed to find his communication handheld missing.
Cruise, 46, appears to mislaid his BlackBerry when he was appearing on Entertainment Tonight Canada.

It is likely phone numbers belonging to his wife Katie Holmes, ex-wife Nicole Kidman and famous friends David Beckham and Will Smith would be on the phone.
National Post columnist Shinan Govani reported the actor's representatives called the Toronto studio to ask crew to search for it shortly after he finished filming.
Govani wrote: 'A search was done, but, nada. So, basically, someone in Toronto has Top Gun's crackberry.'

 

During Cruise's promotional stint in Toronto, he showed off his dance moves on MTV TRL.
He also announced he had stopped talking about his controversial Scientology religion in public after experiencing a backlash several years ago.
He said: 'I just said, "That's it, no more, go to the (Scientology) website.'"
He also admitted he could have done things differently in 2005, when he performed some bad PR moves including criticising Brooke Shields for using medication to overcome her post-natal depression.
He said: 'All I want is to help people. I could have communicated it in a way that was better, no question. I think I could have handled things better.'
Cruise's Valkyrie is set for release in the U.S. this month, after being delayed several times.
The film was originally set for release in the summer, then was postponed until October, then February 2009, before settling for Christmas Day.
Valkyrie, about German war hero Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg who led an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler, in set for release in Britain on January 23rd.

 Martin Holmes is a divorce lawyer with more than 40 years experience in the field, and Katie is said to be keen to explore what her options would be.  
Katie married Tom in 2006, with many at the time seeing it as a cynical attempt to boosting her career which has flatlined since Dawson's Creek finished in 2003.

Nicole Kidman has expressed her sadness that  the children she adopted with then husband Tom Cruisehave chosen to live with him - and wishes they were with her instead.
The 43-year-old actress raised Isabella, 18, and Connor, 15, with Mission: Impossible star Tom from babies - but they decided to live with Cruise after their divorce with his third wife Katie Holmes and their four-year-old daughter Suri.
However, Nicole insisted she wouldn't fight their decision, saying: 'They live with Tom, which was their choice. I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?'

'I was really damaged and not sure whether that was ever going to happen again to me,' she tells this month's UK Marie Claire magazine.

An Italian wedding could be on the horizon

Hollywood glamour couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have been reported to be preparing to tie the knot at George Clooney's lakeside villa in Italy next month.
The pair have also reportedly bought for £3.5 million one of three properties Clooney owns in the northern Italian village of Laglio for use as their European base.
Katie, 28, and Tom, who have a five month old baby daughter called Suri are said to have decided on an Italian wedding as it was where their relationship was confirmed with a very public kiss while he was filming Mission Impossible 3 in Rome.
Details of their marriage ceremony were leaked to the local newspaper in Como near Clooney's villa at Laglio. The paper named the day as November 23.
The pair were said to have decided on Clooney's villa after spending a short holiday there. Katie herself jetted into Como last weekend from Paris after visiting the city's fashion show with new pal Victoria Beckham.
According to details published yesterday Katie and Tom are said to have also bought Villa Teodolinda, which is opposite Clooney's magnificent Villa Oleandra residence.
Clooney regularly offers his home to Hollywood acting pals on holiday in Europe and previous guests have included Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon and Richard Gere.
The civil wedding ceremony will reportedly take place at Villa Oleandra and be perfomed by the local mayor. But the mayor, nor any other local officials, were available for comment yesterday. Last week Katie was spotted in Como after flying in from Paris where she was said to have chosen a Karl Lagerfeld wedding dress.
Yesterday a source in Como quoted in the Italian media said: "The wedding is scheduled for mid November. Kate had looked at various hotels but the venue is set to be George Clooney's villa."
Representatives for Cruise and Clooney could not be contacted yesterday.
If indeed the civil ceremony goes ahead next month, it is likely Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will then have both a Scientology service and a Catholic blessing.
The half-hour Scientology ceremony has a similar protocol to traditional weddings and involves the couple reading out their personal vows to one another and exchanging rings embossed with Scientology's ARC triangle, which stands for Affinity Reality Communication.
A Scientology minister will also read out the invocation: "Rejoice you line of struggling life from eons gone, for here again, your track is sped and winged into a future fate by this, the union of a man and woman, crossing this bridge, whose child shall pace a future span." Katie, who was raised a Catholic but converted to Scientology on meeting Tom, reportedly wants a Catholic blessing to appease her religious parents. It is not clear whether the additional ceremonies will be held in Italy or back in the U.S.

The actor, 44, appears to have a distinct edge on the woman he married on November 18 last year.
But as they stepped out for a second screening of the film in New York on Sunday, she is definitely taller.
Perhaps on this occasion Miss Holmes was showing the effects of a runner's high.
Earlier in the day the mother of one had completed the New York Marathon.
Disguised in a baseball cap, she joined 39,000 competitors on the 26-mile course. She finished in five-and-a-half hours.

For his part, Tom reminisces about their early romance and admits he bought Katie an engagement ring shortly after their first date in 2005.
'I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her,' he says.
'After our very first date, I was sure. At one point, I thought she was going to ask me to marry her first and I cut her off by changing the subject. I wanted to ask her.'
