But band member Michelle Williams has shot down their hopes, claiming the reports are false - and that prior commitments mean she will be in Washington DC.
'I'm going to be in the musical Fela!,' she told WRUG Media in a recent interview.

Her claim appears supported by a website for the musical, which she headlines.
It lists two performances of Fela! at 3pm and 8pm on the day of the Superbowl.
'I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry,' Michelle continued. 'But we did record a song with each other before the holidays.'
Had the reunion happened it would have been the first time in over six years that she and Kelly Rowland had performed with their former bandmate.

An insider told the magazine: 'Beyonce, will perform her hit Crazy In Love during a solo set to kick off the show.
'Midway through the act, she'll be joined by Rowland, and Williams, to sing a medley of their biggest hits starting with Bills, Bills, Bills, Survivor, and ending with their new track Nuclear.'
The source close to Beyonce told the magazine she hopes to 'knock them dead' at the Super Bowl to squash accusations that she lip-synched the National Anthem at the Inauguration Ceremony in Washington, D.C. on January 21.

According to the magazine's insider the whole thing is just a big misunderstanding.
'She did sing. There was a [pre-recorded] track, but Bey sang 100 percent. '[Using a pre-recorded track at live events] is very very common. The track was only there as a backup.'
The lip-synching controversy began when a spokesman for the Marine Corps Band said on Tuesday that Beyoncé did not sing in real time, instead opting for a pre-recorded track of the song.

Beyonce has yet to address the reports however, Beyonce's bandmate Michelle did defend her Destiny's Child sister on Thursday morning on Good Morning America.
'It’s disappointing and saddening to me,' Michelle said about the controversy that exploded in the press after members of the U.S. Marine Corps Band suggested the singer did not perform live.
'It’s just shocking to me that it’s taken on this. I love her so much. I know what she possesses.
'That was such a big moment for her and I just wish people would just let it go and just continue to look for what she’s going to be bringing for ya’ll in the future.'
