But Heidi Montag, 26, and 29-year-old Spencer Pratt sparked further debate after a Channel 5 documentary aired about the pair on Monday night.
The married couple posed with their gun collection while giving a tour of their American home claiming they need the weapons for protection.

In the programme the married couple were shown brandishing their arsenal of weapons including a Benelli semi-automatic shotgun and rapid engagement precision rifle.
After claiming British gun laws are too strict, Spencer opened the room where he stored their guns to show cameras around.

Happily married: Heidi and Spencer show their

Heidi added: 'This is my favourite spot.'
Former The Hills star Heidi admitted she takes comfort knowing they have guns in her and Spencer's Santa Barbara house as she feels unsafe knowing fans could break into the property.
Unwanted attention: Heidi and Spencer recently
made an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother and stayed for the duration
of the show despite admitting fame can cause them worries
'I didn't feel safe especially with crazed fans and stalkers out there but if somebody broke into our home, this is the only thing that could actually save my life.'
But Spencer insists the guns will not be used for the wrong purpose saying they are safely stored and locked away preventing easy access.
