During its glory days, Life magazine was where Americans turned to see big, bold pictures of real-life events they couldn't witness in person. With the demise of print media, and the rise of paparazzi and tabloid era, Life sadly went the way of many of our favorite magazines and folded. Recently, however, Life.com rose like a phoenix out of the ashes of the Life archives. On a good day, you can go there to find previously unseen photos of Marlon Brando, Marilyn Monroe's performance to President Kennedy and more.
A few days ago, however, I happened to pop by and see a slideshow title that made me wonder if I had accidentally typed The Onion into my navigation bar. "How Tall Is Tom Cruise?" the title read. Really, Life.com? I know Tom Cruise has done some questionable things in his personal life in the past decade, and his height is definitely wrong on IMDb, but so is that of most Hollywood males.
Life seems to think Cruise is resorting to some sort of visual trickery (and they are definitely implying some sort of shoe lift action) to appear as tall as some of his 5'10" and above peers. Stonehenge, who built the pyramids ... Tom Cruise's height. They are going to solve this deep mystery once and for all!
