'I wish them both the best': Tom Cruise's first wife Mimi Rogers expresses her sympathy over his split with Katie Holmes

They divorced back in 1990 but it seems that Mimi Rogers bears no hard feelings towards her former husband Tom Cruise.
The 56-year-old actress has spoken up about Tom's recent split with Katie Holmes, saying: 'I wish them both the best.'
Speaking to Us Weekly at the New York film premiere of Hope Springs last night, the brunette expressed her sympathy to the famous couple.

'I wish them both the best. There's not much else to say,' she said. 'I really do, though. I wish them the best.'
Wearing a cream coloured lace dress and gold strappy shoes, the Lost In Space star clearly didn't want to say too much regarding the situation.
Mimi was Tom's first wife who he married in 1987, but sadly the pair split two years later with their divorce being finalised in 1990.

'I think marriage is hard work no matter what,' she added when speaking at the premiere. 'I think it's about first and foremost being great friends.'
Tom, of course, went on to marry Australian actress Nicole Kidman the same year that he got divorced from Mimi, and although they were together for much longer, they too split from one another in 2001.

Five years later, Tom wed Katie but their romance only lasted up until this year with the former Dawson's Creek star filing for divorce in June.
Katie - who has been granted sole custody of their six-year-old daughter Suri - is said to have confided in Nicole in the past, who is now happily married to singer Keith Urban.
A source said at the time: 'She has been a private friend not many people know about. She told Katie her life is great now and she has no regrets.'
