Pine matches the brightening abilities of ash, but there are some
obvious differences between ash wood and pine, not least that the latter
is a soft wood and has a natural pale yellow colour. The similarities
chiefly lie in the fact that pine is also abundant and is therefore very
affordable, lends an airiness to rooms and is hard wearing, making it
ideal for children's furniture and kitchens.
Amongst the popular Ash Sale
is the traditional farmhouse style kitchen dresser, in which utensils,
plates, cups and dishes of all sorts can be stored. The grounded
qualities ash brings a sturdiness to the dresser and a greater sense of
class. And, while pine versions are quality products to grace any
kitchen, the ash version, with its distinctive grain highlighted by oils
that brings the surface to an impressive shine, can catch the eye more
readily.
Meanwhile,
painted pine furniture can add a sense of elegance to a room. A perfect
example is provided by the Camden painted pine range, which boasts an
ivory finish that can create an eye-catching contrast with a pine or oak
floor.
With wood that resembles oak so perfectly, ash furniture
offers a type of sophistication that pine does not. However, both have
individual styles that enhance a room, both in terms of its brightness
and in its comfort, whether it is painted ash or pine
furniture for the bedroom of a child, or ash or pine kitchen furniture
for the newly developed kitchen drenched in the light of a conservatory.
