Best foot forward! Jessica Chastain spices up her low key ensemble with a pair of racy high heeled boots
She looked distinctly casual in a long
black coat, black trousers and matching sunglasses as she arrived at a
New York theatre to perform in play The Heiress.
But Jessica Chastain added a little spice to her low key outfit with a pair of laced up wedge heeled boots
The red headed star smiled broadly as she made her way to the Walter Kerr Theatre in New York City on Sunday.
She wore her hair loose around her shoulders and a pair of dark sunglasses in an effort to remain incognito.
However, she later took off the sunglasses to pose for a photo at the stage door with her co-star, Downton Abbey actor Dan Stevens.
The play, based on Henry James novella Washington Square, sees Jessica play wealthy young woman Catherine Sloper.
Set in Victorian New York, The Heiress tells the story of how Catherine is torn between her controlling father (David Straithairn) and a young, penniless suitor (Stevens).
Jessica recently revealed she was initially unsure whether she wanted to take part in the production when she was sent the script back in 2011.
'I thought, "Oh, I’m not sure if I want to go do a play right now," she told
'But I read the part and I felt a connection to her and I knew I wanted to do it. If they had sent me the script to make it as a film I would have done it as a film. I always follow the character. To me it doesn’t matter the medium.'
It is unclear if Jessica will
be making the trip back to Los Angeles to attend the Golden Globe awards
next Sunday night for which she has been nominated in the Best Actress in a Drama category for her role as a CIA agent in Zero Dark Thirty.
She will be competing for the gong against Marion Cotillard, Helen Mirren, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts.
The Heiress comes to the end of its run on February 10.
