Tom Cruise, arguable one of most recognized faces on the planet, is finally jumping on the Internet with his very own website, Tomcruise.com.
Why is he finally doing this? According to the greeting message at the site, it is created "as a thank you" to fans. The site makes heavy use of Flash.
Here's what you'll get when visit.
Home Page
You'll be greeted with a message from Cruise with the reasons why he created the site and on how much he loved making movies. There's also a video montage of movies he'd done over the years.
In the upper right corner, you get the option to turn off the background music as well as view the site full screen (if you're truly a fan, you'll want to do that, won't you?). At the bottom of the page, you have the opportunity to sign up for updates.
But they only want people with really good eyesight to do that. The captcha image the site uses really only deter people with poor vision or use high-resolution monitors.
What's New Tab
The What's New tab appears to a place where media mentions and announcements will go. Currently, the page is populated with a link to his appearance on the Oprah show (not to the one where he jumped on the couch, unfortunately) and his video montage.
Filmography Tab
In the filmography tab, you get a list of movies
where he appeared in. Clicking into one of them, you'll get photos, the trailer and the synopsis for that movie.
Biography/Gallery Tab
The Biography and the Gallery tabs are self-explanatory.
Well, there you have it. Now, let's get back to our regular scheduled program.
