Great news for action fans as Tom Cruise has signed up to once again take on the role of Ethan Hunt for Mission Impossible 4.
According to Deadline Hollywood, Cruise will produce the film with J.J. Abrams but Paramount will be looking for a director. Screenwriters Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are already signed up to write the script. Paramount are hopeful to make this Cruise’s next film and start shooting by summer for a May 2011 release which would put it up against the Hangover sequel.
Paramount is really excited about relaunching the franchise, which has grossed over $1.4 billion globally, confirmed Chairman & CEO Brad Grey.

“Tom and J.J. are great talents and we are excited to be working with them to re-launch this legendary franchise,”I love this franchise as it is a true action packed adventure (right up my street!), so I’m looking forward to see Cruise as Ethan Hunt once again.
