X-Factor favourite Stacy Francis was destined to be a star: she personally sang to Tom Cruise at his 42nd birthday party

She consistently captivates the audience on X-Factor USA with her powerhouse voice and stories about her embattled past.
And while she's competing to be a big singing star, it appears that Stacy Francis was already gaining notoriety before entering the reality TV contest.
A video has surfaced on YouTube of Francis performing for Tom Cruise at his 42nd birthday party  in 2004, aboard Freewinds, which is Scientology's ship for taking advanced courses.

In the clip, Stacy sings Tom's iconic song from Top Gun, You've Lost That Loving Feeling, straight to the delighted Oscar nominee.

 

She looked vastly different seven years ago than she does today.
Her now straight hair was curly and she appeared to have more curves.
Her voice, however, is the same.

Tom is seen in the clip giving the singer a standing ovation.
And her isn't the only celebrity who has delighted in Stacy's performances.
Not only has Francis toured with Madonna, Prince and Chaka Khan; she's also been praised to the skies by none other than actor Will Smith, according to Radaronline.
'I can't wait for the world to discover Stacy,' the actor is once quoted as having said about the X-Factor star.

Additionally, RadarOnline has uncovered the singer's secret Broadway past: she has appeared on Broadway in Smokey Joe's Cafe and Footloose.
Her IMDb profile shows that she has appeared in twelve television and film roles, including a part in The Bonfire of the Vanities alongside Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis.
Francis also impressed Latin pop singer Enrique Iglesias, when she performed at judge Nicole Scherzinger's Malibu home for he X-Factor.

Tears seemed to well up in the 36-year-old's eyes as he listened to her sing, eventually exclaiming: 'I think the neighbours heard that!'
Though the Spanish-American favourite did caution the recently single judge about the possibility that Francis might not suit today's market, he was clearly impressed. 
Also on Stacy's list of credits includes an appearance on a 2011 episode of reality show Beverly Hills Fabulous.
On the show she admitted to getting a divorce because she became pregnant with her second child by a man who wasn't her husband.

'I just finished going through a divorce,' the heavily pregnant songbird said.
'We were actually separated and we were going through the divorce and it's not his baby.'
She was referring to now 10-month-old daughter, Anastasia. She has a son, three-year-old Donovan, with ex-husband Darwin Kyle Hayes.
